The Big Boy Room
When I found out I was pregnant again, I have to admit that I felt a little guilty. In fact that whole day was a disaster and quite hysterical now that I think about it [I'll save that story for another day]. We have poured so much into the first little soul God blessed us with, and it was overwhelming to think of how to equally love another child. And then it was mind-boggling to know that our little boy's world would change just as much as ours. Those thoughts make having another scary, but I'm also extremely grateful that our boys can grow up together and learn to experience life and love beyond just themselves. With all the excitement that comes with having a new baby, I knew I wanted to make this precious boy feel special in hopes for an easier big brother transition. I started searching Pinterest {like we all do, right!?} and began to grasp the concept of this big boy room and what would fit with the personality of our little guy. I knew I wanted something fun and extravagant to convince him that big boys are awesome... and I may have used this a little bribery to make him give up his crib and sleep through the night!
After several days trying to conquer a design plan, I stumbled on the Restoration Hardware Cabin Bed and immediately fell in love. But man, that price tag seemed a little disheartening for a three year old's room. Thankfully, I found the Ana White plans and convinced my handsome husband to become a carpenter. I don't know if it was me selling the fact that we could save thousands of dollars or if I had another good sales pitch, but he didn't complain and worked several hours to make us all happy. Thank you, babe! You did a wonderful job and I am really proud of you.
So without further ado, welcome to the coolest toddler room. Our version of the Cabin Bed. You can find us placing drive-thru orders through the windows or singing through them to the tops of our lungs. This bed serves many purposes, but most of all it has made a little boy's heart flutter with excitement, and that's what I love more than anything.
Can you believe we are still working with this big boy to get him to sleep through the night in here? I mean, why would he not want to snuggle in this cozy cabin for 8+ hours!? Next time he wakes up, I’m trading spots with him, because it certainly is comfortable and I would give anything for some good sleep.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to send me some good sleep training tips!! After 4 years, I’ll do anything! 😜
XOXO.
